With nine German championships, international success across three continents, and decades of experience at the highest level of the game, Dirk Bauermann is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in German basketball history.
We are excited to welcome Dirk Bauermann as a speaker at the Basketball Performance Summit 2026, taking place from June 12–14 in Vechta, Germany.
As a Head Coach, Bauermann led teams such as Bayer Leverkusen and Brose Bamberg to major national success and shaped German basketball for many years as the Head Coach of the German National Team. Under his leadership, Germany won the silver medal at EuroBasket 2005 — one of the greatest achievements in German basketball history. In addition, he coached national teams and clubs in countries including Greece, Poland, Russia, Iran, Tunisia, and China, winning the FIBA AfroBasket with Tunisia in 2021.
Today, Dirk Bauermann works within the youth development program of the German Basketball Federation, focusing on developing the next generation of players and coaches.
