When it comes to modern player development, athletic performance training, and high-performance structures in professional basketball, Marcus Lindner and Domenik Theodorou are among the most influential figures in the German basketball performance landscape. Together at RASTA Vechta, they represent a modern, holistic approach to athlete development – and will also serve as speakers and organizers of the Basketball Performance Summit in Vechta from June 12th to 14th.

Marcus Lindner brings more than 15 years of experience in international elite basketball. His career began with the Cologne 99ers, before he worked as Head of Physical Performance for the Bamberg Baskets (formerly Brose Baskets), one of the most successful programs in European basketball. There, he was part of multiple championship runs and EuroLeague campaigns, working with athletes at the highest level of the sport.

In parallel, Lindner spent several years working with the German Basketball Federation (DBB), supporting the national team in athletic performance and physical development. He further gained international experience with UNICS Kazan in Russia, followed by roles at FC Bayern Munich Basketball and HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim. Today, he is responsible for key areas of athletic development at RASTA Vechta, working with both professional and youth athletes on their long-term performance progression.

Domenik Theodorou also brings extensive experience from professional basketball. His career started at BG Göttingen, where he gained his first experience in strength and conditioning and performance development. He then joined Bamberg Baskets, one of Europe’s most professional basketball environments, where he further developed his expertise in load management, recovery, and high-performance systems.

Since 2022, Theodorou has been part of RASTA Vechta and played a key role in the club’s sporting rebuild and its promotion back to Germany’s top division, the Basketball Bundesliga. Today, he is responsible for warm-up design, return-to-play processes, strength and conditioning, and data-driven training load management. He is especially known for his close relationships with players, his high-energy coaching style, and his modern approach to performance training.

Together, Marcus Lindner and Domenik Theodorou represent a new generation of performance coaches in basketball: practical, science-driven, and strongly focused on sustainable athlete development.

This philosophy is also reflected in the Basketball Performance Summit, which they jointly organize in Vechta. From June 12 to 14, the event brings together coaches, sports scientists, physicians, strength and conditioning coaches, and basketball experts from across Europe. The goal of the summit is to share current developments in modern basketball, athletic performance, and high-performance systems, while fostering exchange between theory and day-to-day practice in elite sport.

As speakers, Lindner and Theodorou will not only provide insights into their daily work in professional and youth basketball, but also discuss topics such as modern training periodization, athlete development, recovery strategies, load management, and the demands of a professional basketball program.

With their combined experience from the Bundesliga, EuroLeague, national team programs, and international elite basketball, both are shaping the performance culture at RASTA Vechta – while simultaneously building a platform through the Basketball Performance Summit that fosters innovation, exchange, and the future of player development in basketball.
